Blue Guy Sketch

This is just a test to see how well a relatively rough sketch can be finished off in color. Thought it isn't complete, the process shows some promise.

I love working in Photoshop to paint. There's so much you can do without fear of utterly destroying the image and it allows for all kinds of experimentation. However, it just can't emulate a decent, dynamic pencil line. I tend to sketch with my pencil held on it's side which allows for some good basic construction before going into the details with the point. I haven't found a way to mimic that look with a Wacom stylus. There's a ton of character found in a good pencil line.

Currently, all my work is done in Photoshop, from sketch to finish. I may eventually go back to my old-school ways of scanning the final paper sketch and painting over it.
